Our Roofing Details
99% of all leaks on any roofing system are on what we call the details! That’s all the penetrations, roof vents, wall flashing and transitions on a roof.
With over 30 years in business, we have analyzed all of our warranty call backs and failures from other roofers. We have mastered all of our details to prevent future leaks in these most vulnerable areas.
This is why our warranties are the best in the business and a key to our success!
All Roofs:
All vents are caulked on the seams as they may have a defect from the factory causing future leaks.
All drip edge metals are at a minimum galvalume instead of galvanized steel which only has a life of about 15 years.
Shingle Roofs:
We install prefabricated hip & ridge by manufacturer which have substantially more wind resistance. Other roofers use a matching 3-Tab shingle which doesn’t have much wind resistance.
We put a lead sheet on all transitions between roofs for a permanent leak proof solutions. This a moldable soft metal that never rusts. Most roofers do not know what a lead sheet is.
All wall flashings are removed, replaced and new stucco is applied. Most roofers leave old rusted metals.
All wall flashing corners will have a prefabricated metal cover plate as angle metals will eventually leak on the inside and outside corners.
Tile Roofs:
All valley metals are completely covered with interwoven underlayment membrane and then covered with a modified bitumen membrane making it almost impossible to have a valley leak.
We put a lead sheet on all transitions between roofs for a permanent leak proof solutions. This a moldable soft metal that never rusts. Most roofers do not know what a lead sheet is.

All wall flashing corners will have a prefabricated metal cover plate as angle metals will eventually leak on the inside and outside corners.
We use a minimum of a medium foam paddy adhesive vs. a 2 paddy system. This will provide much more wind resistance and less tile breakage from foot traffic as the tiles will have more foam underneath.
Metal Roofs:
Metal roofs come with a factory applied color finish that protects it from rusting, very similar to a car. When the metal panels are cut to the appropriate lengths of the roof and around penetrations, a raw cut is formed and the metal is exposed to the elements allowing rust to form. We always coat these raw cuts with a factory approved paint. Most other roofers leave the raw cuts exposed.
Flat Roofs:
All penetrations are either heat welded with TPO or a prefabricated mold with pourable sealer providing a solution that will last as long as the roof. Other roofers still use pitch pans with hot tar filled with flashing cement that require constant maintenance.
Angle metals will always fail sooner or later on a horizontal surface on the seams, therefore we never use them on a flat roof.
